The film stars “Euphoria” and “The White Lotus” actress Sydney Sweeney and “Scream Queens” and “ Hidden Figures” star Glen Powell. The story is losely based on “Much Ado About Nothing” by William Shakespeare. Apart from lead casts supporting casts includes Alexandra Shipp, GaTa, Hadley Robinson, Michelle Hurd, Dermot Mulroney, Darren Barent, Bryan Brown, and Rachel Griffiths.
The film follows story of Bea and Ben, two strangers met in a cafe and spent the night together but distanced themselves from each other as a misunderstanding creates between them. But serendipity doing it’s work, brought them back together 6 months later and again after a short time in the marriage of a mutual. Coincidence at it’s peak! Right! There on starts their journey of love and finding it’s true meaning through a roller-coaster of events occurring during Bea’s sister and Ben’s childhood friend’s marriage.
The film spans for 103 minutes and was released in 2023. The film gained a lot of attention prior to it’s release because there were talks about the lead cast having affair off-screen despite having spouses and fiancé. There on-screen and off-screen was so much loved that the rumour almost seemed to be true.
Moreover, it is said that filmmaker used this as a market strategy to gain more attraction. And it seems like it worked. The film was produced on a budget of $25 million and has gained a box office collection of $ 219.2 million. Upon the success of the film, an extended version of the film was released exclusively for 2024’s valentine’s day. The film is streaming Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.
