2023 were the year of one of the biggest movie clashes, two cinematic powerhouses, Barbie and Oppenheimer. These two highly anticipated films with their star-studded casts, and the buzz surrounding their release were the most grossing films of the year with award winning performances.
Barbie

The visuals wih the excellent performances by the cast like Margot Robbie as Barbie, who is also the producer on the film, Ryan Gosling as Ken under the direction of the perfectionist Greta Gerwig makes it worth watching.
Oppenheimer
On the other side of the ring, we have Oppenheimer, a high-octane action thriller that keeps viewers on the edge of their seats. This adrenaline-pumping film follows the gripping story of physicist J.Robbert Oppenheimer on his work on the top secret Manhattan Project during World War II. The cinematic giants was the biggest talks in the Hollywood cinema as both the films had equally talented and remarkable cast and crew and both had their own directing masters so a clash was inevitable. Fans also came up with phenomenon “Barbenheimer” as a way of supporting both films.
Oppenheimer had a budget of $100 million and grossed around $967.1 million on the box office becoming the 3 rd highest-grossing film in 2023.Oppenheimer won 7 Academy Awards, 5 Golden Globe Awards and 7 British Academy Film Awards.
Barbie on the other hand promoted the film very strategically with marketing worldwide and songs by famous pop singers that helped capture more audience. Barbie had a budget of around $128-145 million and grossed a whooping figure of $1.446 billion making it the 14 th highest-grossing film of all time. The list of awards gained by Barbie includes 8 Academy Award, Golden Globe for Best Original Song “ What Was I Made For?” and was awarded Golden Globe for Cinematic and Box Office Achievement.
Although both films are exceptional and hold their own legacy, performance by actors stunned the audience. “Literally Me” Ryan Gosling surprised everyone as he was always seen one with doing serious and mysterious roles. Margot Robbies’s stunning Performance made it even more captivating along with cameos by many actors. Oppenheimer enthralling visuals and seat gripping shots along with remarkable performance by actors captured hearts of fans.
