The narrative focuses on the events that led to the downfall of House Targaryen and the war for succession, known as the ‘Dance of the Dragons.’ The story is set 200 years before the events of “Game of Thrones.”
The series gained popularity for its brilliant performances by the cast, their character development, the score by the remarkable Ramin Djawadi, and stunning visuals. Just five days after its premiere, the series was renewed for a second season, which is set to premiere on June 16, 2024. The pilot episode was watched by over 10 million viewers, marking the biggest figure in HBO’s history. The series won a Golden Globe for Best Television Series and three British Academy Television Craft Awards.
